Samira Alaouie is a First-Generation Lebanese American comedian, writer, and actor with a background in Chicago improv, marketing, and Feng Shui (put a bubbling fountain in the north of your living room this year for abundance!). She received the NBC Emerging Voices scholarship to attend the Harold Ramis Film School after studying and performing comedy in Chicago at Second City, iO, ComedySportz, and Annoyance.
Samira has taken on the roles of writer, director, producer, editor, casting director, and has been a positivity cheerleader for several comedy shorts and sketches performed on stage. She attributes her success to watching many many many hours of television...which is what she tells her family who question her tv watching habits and her choices in life.
Samira grew up navigating two worlds. Her parents were born and raised in tiny villages in Lebanon before immigrating to the U.S. She grew up in a rural subdivision in Missouri, then lived in Dearborn, Michigan in an area nicknamed "Little Lebanon" so she understands what it feels like to live between different cultures and expectations. Samira is a Mensa member who earned a BBA and MBA, and spent over a decade in marketing strategy at top worldwide ad agencies.
Samira's culture and background draws her to very direct and savage humor that's commonly found in satirical comedies like Veep, the Righteous Gemstones, and Curb Your Enthusiasm (fun fact: she is in the trailer for the final season of Curb as a background performer!). She writes observational humor, cutting dialogue, and character-driven comedy. Danny McBride is her comedy hero.
